Senior Social Strategist

Sydney


As Senior Social Strategist, you will oversee the social and digital strategy for our clients and work closely with the Head of Social (based in Melbourne) and the Haystac leadership team to win new business.

You’ll define and develop our best practice approaches, keeping pace with the latest trends, innovations and developments in this constantly changing arena. Because you’re results-driven, you’ll make sure we are listening, monitoring, measuring and evaluating as well as creating in the most effective, industry-leading ways.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for setting the strategies for our clients across multiple platforms. You will play an integral role in ensuring that our campaigns are fully optimised for social media while meeting our clients’ objectives.

Responsibilities
• Strategic planning: Drive the strategic planning function for social across Sydney and other offices (as required).
• Clients: Provide senior counsel to clients, across both PR and Social accounts. Ensure delivery of best-practice social to clients.
• New Business: Actively seek out new business opportunities, lead pitch teams, contribute to a winning pitch methodology and team culture.
• Leadership: Provide social craft leadership and education for the Haystac team, the Haystac brand and for our clients’ businesses.
• Integration: Support Haystac’s role in integration with other state businesses, promoting participation in integration initiatives.

Skills and Attributes
• Excellent oral, written and visual presentation skills
• Strategic thinker with the ability to deliver compelling strategic solutions for clients
• Expert knowledge of social media and its integration across PR and other communications disciplines
• Proven new business winner
• Ability to collaborate with different teams within BWM Dentsu, Dentsu Aegis Network and with our client’s agencies

Experience and Education
• At least seven years’ direct experience in an agency environment, preferably with exposure to integration with PR
• Degree qualified in communication, marketing or related discipline

Group Account Director

Melbourne


Our Melbourne business is looking for a dynamic, experienced, consumer PR leader to join the team as a Group Account Director. We are open to flexible work hours or a 4 day week.

In this role, you will take on full account leadership responsibility for some of the agency’s largest clients, managing various projects and large retainers. Key accounts are high profile, blue-chip brands.

We have a dedicated content and social team and firmly and believe that excellence in digital and social is an intrinsic, not additional, part of our PR offering.

As part of the BWM Dentsu Communications Group, Haystac offers a cross-divisional team environment, with opportunity to work with strategists, creatives and planners on fully integrated campaigns. As part of the Dentsu Aegis Network (DAN), we are able to access scale through sister companies to actively support our ambitious growth plans with cross fertilisation of new business prospects and best-in-class digital learning.

The Role
• Leading your team: developing a strong relationship with your team; building the team as new revenue allows; ensuring loyalty through clear communications on all aspects of the division’s strategy, including an honest understanding of strengths, weaknesses and ambitions for their futures
• Delivering client service: we are committed to providing an outstanding level of client service, ensuring that every client feels that Haystac is an extension of their own team. You will be tasked with ensuring this is the case for all of your clients, by developing rock solid relationships with clients and stakeholders, and leading the team to do the same
• Building your revenue stream: We have enormous potential to grow existing clients. We have a raft of opportunities afforded to us through DAN and have only just begun to scratch the surface of this pipeline – it’s a huge resource and mining it should be a passion, as much as a KPI.
• Managing our agency: You will be a key member of our senior leadership team and the agency and your influence will be felt through the local and national teams, giving you huge opportunity to introduce positive new thinking and help shape the future of the agency

Key Candidate Criteria
You will have ambition and show drive for your clients, your team, and your agency. You will be a person who takes an active interest in your clients’ businesses and builds an intimate knowledge of the commercial, public affairs and communication aspects of their operating environment. You will be a team player as well as team leader, both for your own team as well as the larger agency. You will have passion for continued learning and also appreciate that a good sense of humour is vital in this industry. Eight years+ PR Agency industry experience.

You’ll be able to show proven excellence in: o all aspects of consumer communications o experience in leading a large retail client is of great advantage o working at all levels of seniority and experience, spanning from CEO client counsel, crisis management through to all aspects of B2C communications o working with the Australian media, at both a corporate, product and brand level o building relationships and delivering results for clients o successfully managing a team in a PR agency environment o leading and converting new business pitches, with the appetite to have this as a key pillar of your role at Haystac

Reporting
You will be managing a team of four consultants who report to you, plus wider team support. This position reports to the General Manager, Haystac Melbourne.
